Stripes

This is the first quilt I made to give as a gift.  I had so much fun picking out the fabrics with a little princess in mind.  I followed this tutorial.  (I hope that link takes you to Film in the Fridge.)  Thanks for your inspiring blog Ashley.

Did you catch the little bear in the bottom corner?  It was a last minute addition so not very well placed.  I don't think the little princess cares.

This was also the first back I ever pieced.  I can't believe how much time I spent doing this.

Oh and look...the dog made her way into the picture again!

ROYGIV in HSTs

My first attempt at using half square triangles.

I'm quite happy with how this turned out.  I missed a few points completely but some aren't too bad!  I'm trying to fire the quilting police that still live in my head and discouraged me years ago.

I actually made this quilt last summer but just finally finished the binding last week.

The back is a single piece of a confetti print that supports the Linus Project.

In reviewing these photos perhaps I should have called this P(ink)OYGIV.

My first post!

A practice quilt for a practice post.
This is the Yellow Brick Road pattern from Atkinson Designs.

Seriously, the dog would not get off the quilt!

And the back.
